but in actuality it’s one of the <strong>best</strong> places to get started!</p>
<p>At this point in time, they happen to be reaching a peak of popularity once again.<br />
Why, you ask?  Here are eight great reasons:</p>
<p><strong>1. Team Atmosphere</strong></p>
<p>One of the best elements of a cycling class is that it is done as a group.<br />
If you need to be held accountable in order to get the most out of the workout,<br />
cycling classes are a great way to do it. Classes are full of other people who will support you.</p>
<p><strong>2. Low Impact Exercise</strong></p>
<p>A cycling workout is a low impact exercise. This means that it won&#8217;t put pressure on knees and other joints, as do other aerobic or running exercises. Of course, proper stretching and training practices are still important in order to avoid injury.</p>
<p><strong>3. Cardiovascular Benefits</strong></p>
<p>Cycling class is akin to bike riding. You will be lead on a virtual ride that contains different challenges in terms of difficulty like hills and terrain. Just like bike riding, cycling classes are an excellent way to get your heart rate up to a healthy level for exercise purposes and maintain it there for the duration of the class.</p>
<p><strong>4. Flexible Difficulty Levels</strong></p>
<p>Cycling classes allow you to set your own exercise level. While you&#8217;ll be working out alongside other people, you&#8217;ll each be operating at your own fitness level in order to receive the benefits that are best for you.</p>
<p><strong>5. Burn Calories</strong></p>
<p>A cycling workout of 45 minutes may allow you to burn 400 &#8211; 600 calories, which is a huge amount when compared with other types of workouts. However, the amount of calories you burn will depend on the intensity of the workout. Adjust your bike according to the intensity you want.</p>
<p><strong>6. Build Muscle Tone</strong></p>
<p>The cycling workout may help you build some muscle tone. The workout will focus on the core muscles, as well as the gluts, quads, hamstrings and calves. You can increase and decrease the tension of the bike; this is similar to riding up and down a hill.</p>
<p><strong>7. Relieves Stress</strong></p>
<p>Any type of exercise is known to relieve stress. However, a cycling class can be an efficient stress reliever due to the group atmosphere. Great music helps make the class more entertaining and the 45 minutes will fly by!</p>
<p><strong>8. Reduced Risks of Injury</strong></p>
<p>While running and jogging may present a higher risk of injury, by it&#8217;s nature, a cycling class is less likely to cause injuries. As always, it&#8217;s recommended to stretch prior to the class.</p>
<p><em>When you come to class:</em></p>
<p>A. Bring a towel</p>
<p>B. Bring a water bottle</p>
<p>C. Arrive a few minutes early to ask for help getting adjusted on your bike.</p>
